100% Pugnitello, a rare and antique Tuscan grape. Deep body, dark cherry, and wood. A true conversation piece.
Tiur is a velvety and robust single-varietal wine with structure and vibrant acidity. Made from the Pugnitello grape, an indigenous Tuscan varietal whose history dates back to the ancient Etruscans.
It earned its name from its small, dense, fist-shaped clusters (pugno meaning fist). Because these tiny bunches yield very little juice and the vine is highly sensitive to bad weather, farmers historically abandoned it in favor of high-yielding options. The grape became virtually extinct. Then, in 1981, it was rediscovered in the wild hills of Grosseto, Maremma.
