First recorded in the late 1800s at the Castello di Brolio estate, the Foglia Tonda grape was known for producing way too much fruit. Farmers didn't know how to manage the wild, heavy yields, so the grapes struggled to ripen, and winemakers eventually abandoned it. The grape was rescued from obscurity in the late 1970s.\u2028\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt’s a rich, full-bodied wine with a gorgeous ruby color, and a nose of dark berry and violet.
